Track 'Dreams Scattered Inside And Out' from the album 'Positonal Hyper Puritive' Official Video Collage on Youtube by Niko Pettersen
The history of the album 'Positonal Hyper Puritive' goes back to 2015, tying up a saga of Niko Pettersen, Valve Pettersen and the harsh sounds the producer brings out on his rarest moments, the musical endeavor squeezed into 65 minutes of studio-performances, and unknown, somewhere towards distinguishable sphere of elements in electronic music, still backing a step back to what he calls purism.
So, what about whispering debates, at the after party while the selector's at work near field, on loose definitions of right and wrong types of musical travelling in a mind without ability to give point to a norm of an appealing piece, still claiming a vision ready to be shared crystal clear? Even though everything has already been created on the scene, so many souls have already gave up on in the past decades and where in flourishing swarm of remixes of the elements and functionalities that simply work, yet people get bored if similar pieces are put together in a mix, restricting the diversity of dynamics, color, shapes, textures and elasticity of 'the sound' the selector calls music?
Calling it timeless, creative flow with ups and downs, trial and error, 'Positonal Hyper Puritive' brings up the noise and bass to a confirmed, unpleasant level, falling over the threshold of tolerance on auditory stimulus, being it the sound of the people without voice or bringing critics next to a question about who said what in the first place.
But why? Why on earth someone would do 65 minutes of distortion and isn't it a place to give birth to your very first experience of tinnitus?
The album is a collection of pieces out of a thought brought into life, without preferably been on the list of something to look for rather having it on the way through time and space, staying there by his side for over 4 years before the steeping blend of distorted idm, breakbeat and experimental recordings was scheduled to be released.
Getting along without trying to be something, with a hint of "more", than the reflection in the pieces of a shattered mirror, the album consists of recordings investigating less obvious rhythm pattern selections for the so-distorted 808 by valve tube preamplifiers, relation between silence, bass, delay effects, crispy and knackered audio signal and minimalism without an acceptable perceptible appearance for the purist.
Instead of denial, welcome the experience and feel free to learn something about psycho-acoustics as the content won't leave the consumer: It stays around: Silent, present, loyal to instincts, in the dark corner and wakes up without notice, with lack of sleep and full throttle as walking by.
Simply: A distorted minimalistic representation of soundscapes of sirens and chaos.
Niko brings the album out on his mother's birthday in memoriam her for hope, despair, one's goodness, thankfulness, turbulence, relentlessness, revolt, against the norm, vulnerability and for the pure sake of occurrence for consequences in life that bring more life and on the other hand consumes resources and affecting individuals for the rest of their lives, without the decision making of a free will.
